Fall 2016 Update

11/27/2016

Where do we even begin? Our time in America, last summer, was amazing! It was so nice to see everyone, catch up with all our friends and family, and introduce Levi to everyone. We also had a bunch of opportunities to share with churches throughout California about all that is happening in Nepal. Thank you to everyone who made our time there so special and for carving out time in your busy schedules to see us and love on our family. We are truly blessed!

Salvation Member Weekly Bible Study
In addition to the weekly church services at Calvary Chapel Kathmandu, Pankaj had the desire to start up a weekly Bible study specifically set apart for the Salvation Worship Team members.

They are currently going through the book of Galatians and each member of the team takes turns leading the study.

It has been an awesome time for the guys to get together, every week, to fellowship, worship, and study the Word together.

Salvation Worship Team’s 4th Album
We are currently in the process of recording the 4th album for the Salvation Worship Team! This CD will be composed of all original songs written by different members of the team. There is even one song that was written by a group of friends from the 2008 School of Worship, when Tonielle went there. We are hoping to have everything finalized by the end of the year so that we can hold a CD release concert.

Calvary Chapel Bible College
This semester has already come and gone! Classes started on August 1st – only 4 days after we returned from the States! It was great to see all of the returning students and to meet the new students.

This semester, we have our first American student – Victoria. She will be graduating at our campus on November 18, along with 3 other students.

In addition to the normally scheduled classes, there have been multiple visiting teachers from America (and Uganda – Dr. Juventine) that have come to teach block classes. Pankaj is also enjoying teaching a class on Worship, every Friday.

November 6 – 8, the students and staff will be going on a three-day outreach trip to the Gorkha district. There will be 4 different outreach events on this trip and the students will be running the whole thing.

Please pray for traveling mercies and for everyone to stay warm while camping in the cold, mountain weather.

Thailand Conference
We had the privilege to go back to the Calvary Chapel Asia Conference this year, in Chiang Mai, Thailand! Last year, Pankaj and I were the worship leaders for the conference and Pankaj also taught a workshop. This year, we were able to go as normal attendees. They even had children’s ministry for all ages, so Levi was able to play with kids his age and Pankaj and I got to sit and hear the Bible studies together.

It was so nice to be able to take a break from our busy lives in Kathmandu and be ministered to during the 4-day conference. We were also able to raise funds to bring one of our ministry partners, Jay Singh, and his wife Sangeeta with us this year!

After the conference, we had a quick, 2-day, vacation in Bangkok where we were able to relax as a family, before jumping back into ministry in Kathmandu.

Levi’s First Birthday
On October 28, Levi turned ONE YEAR OLD and on October 30, we celebrated with all of our friends and family with a Superhero Themed Party!

I can’t believe we have a one year old!! This last year has been full of adventures and learning experiences. Pankaj and I love being parents and can’t imagine life without our precious son.

Please pray with us that God would give us wisdom in raising him and that he would grow up to love the Lord with all his heart, soul, strength, and mind.

Rent Deficit
Over the past three years, we have been blessed to have the rent of our entire ministry campus covered by three different churches. We were recently made aware that one of our large donors will not be able to continue supporting us. In addition to losing one of our rent donors, the landlord notified us that starting in January 2017, they will be raising the rent amount by 15%. This means that there will be a major deficit ($750 per month) that needs to be filled ASAP.

Please pray that we are able to find new donors to help provide for the rent of our ministry campus.

It goes without saying that God has been blessing and will continue to bless our ministry. We trust that He will provide the funds needed to help sustain the Bible College, music school, and church.

If you would like to make a donation (one-time or monthly) specifically to help with the rent, please click here: http://www.salvationworshipministries.com/donate.html.

All donations are tax deductible and will help with the furtherance of God’s Kingdom.

Spring 2017 Family USA Trip – Visa & Green Card Paperwork
As many of you know, Pankaj has a green card for America. If you work outside of America, when you have a green card, you are required to travel back to the States every year in order to keep your residency status active. As you can imagine, that can get very expensive, especially when traveling as a family.

This Spring 2017, we would like to make a trip to California to not only fulfill Pankaj’s lawful requirements but to also apply for something called a “Reentry Permit”. This permit will allow Pankaj to remain out of the States for up to two years instead of having to return once a year. This will save us tons of money in the long run, but the process of traveling to apply for it and paying for the application fees is going to be more money then we currently have saved.

While we are Stateside, we would also like to officially register our marriage with the Indian government (5-years later) and also apply for a 10-year visitor visa for Levi. Both of these processes are more for a “just in case” scenario – if for any reason we need to leave Nepal in a hurry, India is the closest, safest place to go.

Please pray for us as we begin to fundraise and save for this trip. We also ask that you prayerfully consider helping us financially.

We have set up a GoFundMe account and have listed out every expense these funds will go to pay for. I have also included a link to the giving page for our Saving Grace World Missions missionary account if you would rather donate directly there.

We are hoping to purchase our plane tickets no later than December 1st.

Please click the links below if you are interested in helping.

Pankaj, Tonielle, and Levi Sarkar
